Focus:

To provide a consistent stream of income for the organization generated by successfully applying for grants.

To maintain an excellent business relation with previous grant makers.

Supervisor: Fundraising and Donor Stewardship Manager

Role:

Identify appropriate trusts and foundations to make applications to.

Prepare and submit successful high quality and accurate applications for grants of varying sizes from trusts and foundations.

Manage existing relationships and build new relationships with current, previous and potential grant funders.

Report on grants in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with grant-givers terms and conditions.

Produce impact reports to demonstrate value to trusts and foundations.

Work closely with the team to carry out any necessary research and gather data to support grant applications.

Liaise with other staff or volunteers to ensure grant-makers requirements are met (e.g. logo on website).

Keep up to date with relevant research to support grant applications.

Responsible for own role-related admin.

Take on other duties commensurate with this post as directed by the CEO.

Experience/Requirements:

Experience of preparing and submitting successful grant applications independently for a similar sized charity.

Knowledge and experience of the grant funding landscape for animal welfare charities.

Thorough understanding of the due diligence requirements of trusts and foundations.

Knowledge of relevant trusts and foundations and experience in managing your own income pipeline.

An excellent level of written and spoken English.

Able to build strong working relationships with the board.
