Tisha’s story

This is Tisha.

Tisha was found lying on the street, barely alive. She had been severely beaten and left there, broken and unable to move. No shelter. No one was coming back for her. Just a small cat, clinging to life on the cold ground.

It was Olga, a friend of our local rescue shelter manager Innesa, who found her. Olga didn’t walk past. She didn’t assume someone else would help. She stopped, she knelt down, and she made a choice that would save Tisha’s life.
Without her, Tisha’s story would have ended right there on that street.

Olga rushed Tisha to the veterinary clinic immediately. What the vets found was heartbreaking. Tisha’s injuries were severe. Her throat was completely paralysed. She couldn’t swallow. She couldn’t eat. She was barely breathing.

For a while, we didn’t know if Tisha would make it. Recovery was slow, uncertain, and filled with setbacks. Every small improvement felt like a victory.

And then after weeks of subtle improvements, Tisha ate by herself.

Tisha is proof of what love and dedication can do. She is proof that one person stopping to help can change everything. She is proof that these animals, no matter how broken they arrive to us, are worth fighting for.
