Adoptions coordinator

Are you passionate about helping animals find their forever homes? As an Adoptions Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in transforming the lives of shelter animals and the families who adopt them. Based in beautiful Sweden or Switzerland, this on-site position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the adoption process from start to finish, reviewing applications, interviewing prospective adopters, and making the perfect match between animals and their future families.
  • Be a trusted guide for adopters, offering advice on responsible pet ownership, handling behavioural concerns, and ensuring each adoption is a successful, lifelong placement.
  • Build and maintain a network of foster homes, providing temporary care for animals in need.
  • Help organise off-site adoption events, bringing our amazing animals into the spotlight.
  • Keep adoption records organised and up-to-date, tracking the progress of each adoption.

Why This Role Matters:

You will be at the heart of our mission, connecting rescue animals with loving homes. Your work ensures that animals receive not just a second chance, but a forever family, while educating adopters on responsible pet care.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds with professionalism, empathy, and care.
  • Self-motivation and initiative – you’ll often work independently, making decisions that shape the lives of both animals and adopters.
  • Experience working with animals, especially in behaviour, training, or care, with a solid understanding of common behavioural challenges.
  • A compassionate problem-solver, capable of navigating tough adoption situations and finding solutions that are best for both the animals and the adopters.
  • Resilience and emotional strength to handle the realities of shelter work, including euthanasia, while staying focused on the goal of finding animals loving homes.
  • Knowledge of feline and canine body language and signals.
  • Strong computer literacy, including familiarity with Google Suite tools and the ability to learn our shelter database system.

Why Join Us?

As an Adoptions Coordinator, you’ll be making a direct impact on the lives of animals and the families who welcome them. This is a chance to be part of something bigger – changing the world for the better, one adoption at a time.
