This role is perfect for someone passionate about animal welfare and comfortable representing ROLDA both online and at events using digital communication to engage supporters, grow donations, and broaden our reach across Australia and beyond.
As an Ambassador, you’ll combine content creation, community engagement, and a bit of real-world representation to help ROLDA’s fundraising and awareness efforts go further.
Ambassadors contribute in different ways across the week, from sharing approved campaigns and rescue stories to engaging their networks and representing ROLDA within their communities.
Such as long-time volunteer Corinna, by spending just a little time you can end up reaching thousands of people over time.

After adopting Honey from our shelters in 2012, Corinna has divided her time between caring for Honey and spreading the word about ROLDA and the plight of stray dogs in Romania.
Corinna is an integral part of our team that raises awareness of ROLDA and its global mission.
Corinna is just one person, but her volunteer work for ROLDA has saved thousands of animals. She has inspired family, friends, coworkers, students, seniors, and strangers across the globe to get involved with the ROLDA community.
But Corinna needs more fellow ambassadors to help spread the word about ROLDA’s work. One ROLDA ambassador has the potential to reach hundreds, even thousands of people — that means you can get so many new supporters to help us save more animals in need.

As an Ambassador, you’ll be ROLDA’s voice online and in your community, creating content that inspires people to care and give, keeping our social spaces warm and engaged, and using your own networks to bring new supporters into the fold. It’s as much about storytelling and connection as it is about numbers, though you’ll also help us understand what’s working so we can reach further. Some weeks that might mean a scroll-stopping post; other times it’s a comment replied to, a campaign shared, or a table set up at a local event on ROLDA’s behalf.
We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable with social media and confident putting words to a cause they care about, with a genuine passion for animal welfare. Having existing experience with content or digital marketing certainly helps. A willingness to engage your networks consistently matters more than having a large existing following.
It’s a flexible, remote-friendly role from as little as 5 hours a week, one that gives back in kind: real-world experience in advocacy and digital fundraising, a proper onboarding into the ROLDA community and, importantly, a genuine sense of contribution to animals who have no one else speaking up for them.

Buffy is a tiny Romanian dog who lost her eye to a severe injury. The vet did everything possible to save her, but the damage was too significant.
Dogs deserve the same unconditional love they give us! When Buffy, a tiny dog, suffered a severe injury to her eye, we offered to pay for the veterinarian bill because her family could not afford it. Sadly, the vet had no other option but to remove the injured eye. The vet also found Buffy full of fleas and worms, which he also removed.
After the surgery, Buffy was full of energy and ready to go back home. She was happy and healthy again and looking forward to seeing her family (with one eye). We were so excited to reunite Buffy with her family, but not as excited as Buffy was. But when her family saw that she had lost an eye, they told us that they did not want to keep a one-eyed dog. We were shocked.
Buffy now lives with us at ROLDA, where she awaits a family that will love her unconditionally — as dogs do. Buffy lost more than an eye and her family. She has lost her enthusiasm, energy, and appetite. Sadly, she is depressed. Buffy was disowned by her family because she was no longer a “normal” dog. All they saw was an ugly dog that no longer deserved to be loved and cared for.

Pleasing humans is a challenging task. Our endless wants and desires often close our eyes to the value of what we already have, leaving us in constant pursuit of more. True happiness can feel like an elusive goal.
On the other hand, dogs are the essence of simplicity and purity. They only ask for love, care, a safe place to rest, food, and companionship. They don’t demand much, and their gratitude for even the smallest gesture is boundless. For dogs, we are their entire world—their source of joy, comfort, and trust. Let’s treasure the unconditional love they so freely give!
